- Porphyry: On Images - This collection of fragments is drawn from the lost work of the Neoplatonic philosopher Porphyry On Images. Essentially, the work is a theological and philosophical interpretation of the symbolism of the Greek gods and goddesses. Porphyry explains why the gods and goddesses were represented in certain ways, and how their names and symbolism are allegorical references to the powers of nature or cosmic principles.
