- Abraham Shadd - Prominent historical figure whose accomplishments include, conductor on the Underground Railroad at his homes (stations) in both Delaware and Pennsylvania; In 1833, elected President of the National Convention for the Improvement of Free People of Colour and in the same year, active participant in the founding of the American Anti Slavery Society.
