- New Democratic Party of Canada - Canada's social democratic party. Formed in 1961 out of a fusion of the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF) and the trade union movement. Has never formed the government federally but provincial sections have formed governments in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Yukon. Current federal leader is Alexa McDonough.

- New Zealand Labour Party - Principal party in the New Zealand government. Led by Prime Minister Helen Clark. In the 1980s the party, in government, moved dramatically to the centre instituting a series of neo-liberal economic reforms leading to a number of splits in the party. The party has moved leftwards under Clark.

- Socialist Party USA - A minority faction of the former Socialist Party of America, who took the name and established a new organization in 1973. The SP-USA claims to be the successor to the old party, and advocates a strictly independent electoral strategy for socialists, but has no elected officials and ballot status only in Florida. Has about 1000 members, and runs a presidential campaign every four years.
