  • Anesthesiology - Provides anesthesia services for surgical and radiological procedures, as well as family focused clinical care to children needing critical care, perioperative care and pain management. Affiliated with the University of Connecticut Anesthesiology Residency Program.

  • Cardiology - Offers a full cardiology program, including the evaluation of abnormalities on cardiac structure, function and rhythm. Diagnostic evaluations offered can include: electrocardiograms, Holter and event recordings, transthoracic, transesphogeal echocardiography, diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations and exercise testing.

  • Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery - Performs over 150 palliative and corrective surgical procedures a year on newborns, infants, and children. These comprise the range of abnormalities and include arterial switches for transposition of the great arteries, Fontan procedures for single ventricle physiology, as well as the more common corrective procedures.

  • Craniofacial Team - Organizes and provides long term, multidisciplinary, coordinated care for any infant or child with congenital or acquired abnormalities of the craniofacial complex, including structures in the skull, face and neck.

  • Critical Care - 12-bed Medical/Surgical Intensive Care unit where approximately 1,000 critically ill children per year receive care and treatment. Patients are managed by a multidisciplinary group including: pediatric subspecialists, specifically certified nurses, pediatric respiratory therapists, child life and rehabilitation specialists, nutritionists, pharmacists, and social workers.

  • Dentistry - Provides comprehensive primary and specialty dental care for children, including preventive, restorative, endodontic, periodontic, and surgical dental treatment in a traditional outpatient setting and in the operating room under general anesthesia.   • Emergency Medicine - The Emergency Department is staffed 24 hours a day by board certified attending physicians who are always available for consultation via our physician referral line. In addition, the attending physicians provide ongoing medical command for the ground pediatric transport team, and supervise the management of patients in the 23 hour unit.

  • Plastic Surgery - Comprehensive treatment for congenital, post-traumatic, tumor-related and aesthetic deformities. Specific problems include anomalies of the skull, ear, nose, lip, palate, facial skeleton, breast, chest, extremities, and hand. Burns, chronic wounds, post-traumatic wounds, and tumor defects are commonly treated. Microsurgery, facial palsy reconstruction, and congenital hand surgery are available.
