- The Sugar Museum, Berlin - Berlin's Sugar Museum was founded in 1904 and documents the history of sugar production (and consumption) around the world. This followed the founding of the first sugar institute in the world in Berlin in 1867, and Marggraf's discovery 1747 in Berlin of sugar in the Mangelwurzel. Berlin simply is a very sweet city.
