- Alameda County Arts Commission - Established in 1965 to encourage a thriving environment for the arts and cultural activities, promote economic stability for Alameda County's artists and arts organizations, and to promote employment situations for Alameda County artists. The Art Commission acts in an advisory capacity to the Board of Supervisors concerning the arts and cultural environment in the County. The Art Commission is funded by grants from the California Arts Council's State-Local Partnership Program, operating funds from the Alameda County General Fund at the discretion of the Alameda County Board of Supervisors, individual donors to Alameda County's ARTSFUND, and other sources.
