- Pacific Ocean Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Headquartered in Hawaii, POD is charged with executing Corps missions in the Pacific area of operations that spans six time zones, from Alaska and Hawaii to American Samoa and across Polynesia and Micronesia to Japan and Korea. The three broad missions of the Corps are military engineering, construction, and real estate management support to military installations; engineering support to other federal agencies; and water resources development (also called civil works) centered around navigation, flood control, and environmental protection.
