FilmStar Optical Thin Film
Software is a suite of Windows
programs for designing, manufacturing, and measuring optical thin film
coatings. Optical coatings are applied to glass and other surfaces by high
vacuum deposition. FilmStar is distinguished by its ease-of-use and
connectivity to monitoring instruments and spectrometers. FilmStar stands
alone in the ability of its users to customize and automate. |
|
|
 |
Scantraq
is a standalone
version of FilmStar MEASURE, marketed to chemists and spectroscopists
and supporting UV/Vis/IR data acquisition and
analysis from popular PerkinElmer, Varian, and Agilent models. With its
built-in development tools, Scantraq provides a powerful alternative
to the software supplied by instrument manufacturers. FTG is especially
proud that ExxonMobil utilizes Scantraq at numerous locations.

Why FilmStar?...Already
have coating software? There's no law against using more than one
package and there's a good chance that
a design from one program will be improved in another. Click here for
an example! But it's
not just about design! When it comes to the business of coating,
FilmStar is unmatched. Over
the past few years we've sent a number of Why FilmStar e-mail messages to
prospective users. Click here to browse
these (sometimes amusing) e-adverts and new
flash videos! Learn how FilmStar can
help your work and career in optical films. |

Gambling on optical coating yields?
What's worse than no-bidding an order
because the required tolerances exceed your coating capability?
Accepting the order! As the old jokes go, you will lose money on each
coating run but make it up in sales volume.
Let's face it, optical coating is something
of a crap shoot! The only
way to win in this competitive field is to understand the odds. Unlike
other software, FilmStar lets you predict percent yields for complex
spectral requirements. That's because FilmStar includes programmable
capabilities (BASIC and
Workbook) not found elsewhere.
Of course, not all errors are
random. That's why FilmStar provides
inverse-synthesis
(reverse engineering) and layer error
analysis. We suggest you examine these pages and then contact us to arrange an
online demonstration at
your convenience. |

Automating coating processes?
Unlike other thin film programs, FilmStar is
an ActiveX application.
That means you can use FilmStar within other applications, for
example in software which controls an optical coating chamber. And we
don't just mean transferring files. We mean running FilmStar seamlessly
and invisibly in the background.
Did you know that all Microsoft Office applications are ActiveX?
That's why you can run FilmStar from Excel or Excel from FilmStar. That's
why you can print QA reports in Word directly from FilmStar MEASURE. You
won't believe how easy it is!
Several examples are included in our
Free Version. Isn't it time that your company and
career benefited from ActiveX automation? |

Don't like your spectrophotometer software?
Has functions you never use
and limited or non-existent possibilities for automation? You'll be
pleased to know that we offer alternatives.
FilmStar
MEASURE (or Scantraq
for chemists) runs most new and legacy PE models plus Varian, OOI and Zeiss!
Only FilmStar gives you common software
for diverse instruments plus 100% compatibility with
coating analysis software! MEASURE and Scantraq deliver the features and benefits you need:
powerful automation capabilities, industry-standard
database support, superb graphics and many other important features. Contact us
today for an online demonstration!
