Macy's Thanksgiving Balloons Inflation Preview Video

Ronald McDOnald balloon in Macy's Thanksgiving ParadeThe Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade festivities kick-off the day before Thanksgiving at the Inflation Party where they drive in a massive tanker trunk full of helium and turn the flattened pools of fabric on the street into the familiar balloons you see in the parade. Although, it still looks a little weird to see Snoopy and Ronald McDonald (in the video below) laying down in the middle of the street. (Ronald looks angry while Snoop looks like he's napping.)

You may be in Holiday mode at the moment but once you get back into the swing of the work week next week, you'll find that you're getting invited to a lot of parties starting at 9:00 pm, the 21st hour. This is because the 75th anniversary of the 21st Amendment (or the end of prohibition) is next Friday, December 5 and a lot of places are throwing big partiesto celebrate.

There's nothing like having Thanksgiving dinner in a hotel boardroom. When I sit down tomorrow afternoon (because apparently Thanksgiving "dinner" is always eaten by 2PM, virtually guaranteeing that you'll be starving again by real dinnertime), it will be in a giant hotel restaurant surrounded not just by family but by everyone else's nearest and dearest.

Some top tours currently crossing the world are fronted by ladies. Women are selling out crowds all over the place.

Carrie Underwood has toured nearly non-stop since mid-summer. She's made stops from North Dakota to San Diego and even ventured to London but she's not stopping yet. The tour ends December 14, 2008 when she plays the O'Connell Center in Gainesville, Florida.

Taylor Swift is another hot ticket. Her next show is December 3, 2008 at Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, California and is the only show on her schedule for a few months. Her last tour ran from June through November and took the young star to Nashville, Tennessee for the Country Music Awards where she earned the Video of the Year Award.
