At ALE we design and manufacture a range of laser engraving systems. ALE systems utilise a selection of different lasers for engraving, texturing, imaging and micromachining the surface of cylindrical forms that are used in a variety of printing, embossing or texturing applications. Though all our current machines engrave onto a cylindrical surface some of the products are used in the flat. All our systems are PC based and are designed and manufactured in the UK with over 200 systems installed globally.

ALE 7 metre engraving system

A variety of materials can be engraved including various plastics, ceramics and assorted metals. The speciality of our systems is the very high registration accuracy over small and very large formats. We have machines in the field with cylinder handling capacity of 8 metre face width and diameter of 1.2 metres. Our engraving pixel size typically ranges from 2 microns upwards with a system resolution of 1 micron in all axes.

Although ALE supply a standard range of machine sizes, other size and configuration options are possible. Depending on our customer's needs we supply systems where the laser is moved across the work piece, (cylinder),  or the work piece is moved across the laser.

For specialist or new applications,  ALE develop bespoke systems for customer's with specific industry production demands. For laser texturing, laser micromachining, laser drilling or marking applications, the laser type, wavelength and power are selected and integrated into the bespoke system.
