It's the battle of the stick cookie snacks. Glico introduced Mousse Pocky, which according to JSnacks is the "hottest selling item in Japan right now!" The site also reports that, "current consensus is that [Mousse Pocky] is MUCH better than Meiji Fran!" Meiji Fran is a new competing cookie snack, very much like Pocky. In comparison, JSnacks reports that Meiji is "thicker than standard Glico Pocky."

I haven't tried Meiji Fran, but Mousse Pocky _is_ thick (at least the chocolate variety). I felt like I was eating a chocolate hot dog. On an interesting note, at the time I checked JSnacks had 59 units of Mousse Pocky in stock, but its supply of Meiji Fran was _sold out_. Mhmm.

Ahh, nothing like a mouth-watering Mozartkugeln, a chocolate ball with hazelnut and marzipan filling made in Austria, to soothe an aching heart. Unfortunately, it doesn't placate the desire to kick his teeth in and break a few of his ribs. Thanks, Richard, for sharing anyway. (Go to a sweetaustria.bizland.com for more info.)3.07.2001

Have you been nibbling your pink strawberry Pocky snacks in secret because you were afraid to appear too effeminate? Well, now you can chomp with manly vigor on dark chocolate Men's Pocky. Bryan, whose strapping, masculine hand holds the box in the picture, turned me on to this variety. I tried some myself, and I did feel my adam's apple becoming more prominent and my voice deepening.

I want to thank Bryan, of Qun-candy fame, for passing on the Japanese Snacks URL to me. Happy Bryan?
